Keith and I played together as high school tennis teammates, played against one another in numerous competitive tournament matches. Still I rarely think of him as in tennis terms. I remember Keith as a best friend and someone who knew me better than I knew myself. He was an empathetic listener who cared deeply about what I or anyone else (that he was connected to) had to say. He was always tuned in and never needed to make you feel important — you felt important because you actually were to Keith.
